Some Over-Clocking Tips

(1st) The First Thing

Something We Do To Every New CPU We Plug it into a slot 1 test bench (or in your case--your PC's Mother-Board) Power up and BURN-IN the Processor for a week (24 hours a day) at it's normal (default) setting. During that week, we run as many as 5 different Bench-tests (and you can download from zdnet Wintune 98 and Winstone 98 and etc.). This will increase your chances of success in over-clocking it later. Example: 300A would be 4.5 X 66, of which is the default setting.

(2nd) The Next Step Using A Celeron 300A

Since the 300A multiplier is locked at 4.5 X 66 bus speed, your only option would be to change your MB setting (either via the softmenu, jumper or dip-switches) to the 100 bus speed. If you have NO option but 66 bus then you can still try other methods like core voltage. I would like to say right here that we prefer the ABIT BH6 or BX6 board due to the many possibilities like bus speeds of 66, 75, 83, 95, 100, 112, 124 and etc. Haven said that (and with great care) increase the voltage by .5v increments because your default setting was (or should be) 2v. In doing this voltage increase you have to think about cooling the CPU.

(3rd) Here's The Setting For 300 to 400 and 450

4 X 100 would give you 400 MHz and 4.5 X 100 would be 450 MHz. Pretty simple huh ?? BUT here's where it might require some expertise, if you have problems with stable or the system doesn't boot then you need to increase the voltage setting by .5v increments to see if it stabilizes

112/124/83/75. All these bus settings increase the PCI beyond specs on most Motherboards, which might cause some devices to stop functioning. 124 and 83 bus speed settings increase PCI to 41.5 MHz, 112 and 75 increase it to 37.5 MHz

What does That 300A serial number mean?Example?

Serial >>> 08460006 SL2WM <<< 300A/66 Costa Rica Means=
0 = Costa Rica
8 = 1998
46 = packaged in week 46
66 = FSB speed
300A = celeron 300 with 128kb full speed cache
