Yes, I do a fair amount of experimenting with desktop systems, trying this or that scenario to help answer the question's that I get all the time-- "What will happen if ... ?" The scenario sometimes wanders off into cyberspace and It's a challenge (fun at times) trying to usher it back into our world again.

Not too many years ago --- I liked my 266 Pentium II with NT 4, W95b and W98 and 8 logicals on drive1 & 2 logicals for Data storage on drive2, a Mediaone cable modem connection, 128 Ram and a 17" tube, running a 12gig TX Quantum Ultra ATA Bigfoot HardDrive with (some good benchmarks specs) a 12ms seek time, 33MBps external data transfer, 128k buffer, 18mbps data transfer (the best of the Fireball & CY interfaces), Sansung 2.1 w/MR, pseudo-contact. to the disk drive, and liked the later PC I built, Abit BH6-440 chipset with 128mb 8ns PC100 Samsung - SDRAM, humming along with a OC'ed Intel Celeron/300A (Step 0) SL2W8 cooled by a Globalwin ver12, Seagate 4.5GB, Ultra SCSI Cheetah, 8.5ms, 512K cache, 10Krpm, HardDrive, Diamond Multimedia Viper V550. Super Riva TNT,16MB Graphics card and Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live Sound card, US Robotics courier everything isa v.90 56k d/f internal modem, Housed in a SuperMicro SC750A ATX full tower case w300watt PS and it screams along at a stable 464.
